Hormones are chemical messengers that signal the body to act. The catch is that we need the right amount. Too much or too little will cause the body to be out of balance. If you are struggling to reach your health goals, hormone imbalance may be an underlying cause. Work with Megan to determine which hormones are out of balance and what steps need to be taken to get the body back on track.
Cortisol is the hormone the body secretes to manage stress. When secreted in the wrong way, cortisol can turn to belly fat, keep us inflamed and fat storing, and can impact our sleep and energy.
Insulin is the hormone secreted by the pancreas to turn food into fuel. When a person is insulin resistant they actually have plenty of insulin on board, but the cells are no longer recognizing this messenger. Insulin resistance will directly impact the ability to lose weight, can keep the body inflamed and can go hand in hand with diabetes.
Testosterone and DHEA are needed by both men and women. When low, symptoms may include poor sleep, lack of endurance in energy, poor exercise toleration, lack of motivation, lack of converting fat tissue to lean muscle, low libido and more.
Thyroid is the master gland of your body. When the thyroid is sluggish, the body will be sluggish. Classic symptoms include: weight gain or inability to lose weight, feeling cold, dry skin/ hair/ nails, digestive changes (constipation, diarrhea or bloating), lethargy, and more.
